DESCRIPTION

What You Need
  • Design stable, reliable and effective databases
  • Optimize and maintain legacy systems
  • Modify databases according to requests and perform tests. Solve database usage issues and malfunction.
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  • Develop technical and training manuals, write and deploy SQL patches
  • Provide data management support to users and Provide guidance and support to Application Developers.
  • Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
  • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Expert Level PostgreSQL, NoSQL language including stored procedures, functions, triggers, cursors and views.
  • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics & isolation levels
  • Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy or security.
  • PgSQL server administration experience (with Linux commands), including knowing the basics of running Postgres SQL— users, permission, backups, recovery, monitoring, and more.
  • Knowledge of Postgres configuration files settings with various backup strategies.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field.
  • 5 plus years of experience with programming languages such PL/PgSQL & NoSQL coding.
  • Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment—you can address bugs with QA, plan schemas with engineering, and respond quickly to other business needs.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and make room for emergencies, as needed.
  • Masters degree will be desirable.
